Thalassophobia
I’ve always been afraid of the sea. So I painted it in order to understand it better. Painting something always helps with understanding it: how the light bounces off the infinite shapes, how the blues merge into deep violets and the abyssal blacks, how every movement turns into glistening white.
Not even in its calmness does the sea sit still. It is always breathing, never blue, never flat; a symphony of colour and form.
This artwork was created with the utmost care and attention, with nothing but the best quality oil paints, varnished so it would withstand the test of time, and the collector can enjoy it and pass it on to future generations.
Framing is not included, but I recommend a dark frame, in a material suitable for the collector’s home. It can be hung frameless as well, because the edges have been painted.
Size: 152.4 W x 80 H x 2 D cm
